Tissue alone was never enough

There is a reason so much of the world washes rather than wipes. Dry paper moves things around; water removes them. Anyone who has spent a long day travelling, or a long night on their feet, knows the difference between feeling nearly clean and feeling clean.

A portable bidet closes that gap in about fifteen seconds. Fill it with warm water, invert it, squeeze. The angled nozzle does the aiming, so there is no awkward manoeuvring in a cubicle the size of a phone box.

Who feels it most

Pregnancy and the weeks after birth are the clearest case: everything is tender, and paper is the last thing you want. The same is true on your period, after a long flight, and on any day spent somewhere with a washroom you would rather not linger in.

It is also, quietly, a comfort thing. Feeling fresh changes how you carry yourself for the rest of the day, and that is worth more than most of what gets sold as self care.

Keeping it simple

Rinse the bottle after each use and leave the cap off so it dries. Warm water only, never hot. If you are flying, empty it before security and fill it on the other side.

That is the whole routine. It is not a gadget that needs charging or refilling with anything but water, which is exactly why it earns its place in a bag.
